Why A Diary

I believe that we should be constantly striving to better ourselves. By growing ourselves we can help others grow, and together we can make positive change in the world. I really want this diary to be a tool that helps you reach your goals, chase your passions, and change the world.

I created the My Best Year Yet diary over 5 years ago to 'scratch my own itch,' as I couldn't find a diary that allowed me to set goals, and optimise my time accordingly. Since then I’ve been constantly updating it to make it the best it can be. I was strongly influenced by the question in my head, “How can I achieve more in less time?” Inspiration has come from those in the high-performance space, the likes of Stephen Covey, Tony Robbins, Brendan Burchard, and Tim Ferriss. I was also influenced by Kev Larkins from the SLSA National Leadership College, and my former running coach Ben Norton, to name a few.

Given how planning is proven to empower people to achieve goals, it was only natural to make my years of learning available for those who want to succeed in life. The importance of committing your goals to paper cannot be understated. Using a diary subconsciously encourages you to constantly think about your goals, giving you the opportunity to clearly define the path you need to take in order to consistently live your best year yet.
